Diese Norm legt die allgemeinen Anforderungen an und Prüfungen von Eigenschaften von Überzügen fest, die durch Eintauchen von gefertigten Eisen- und Stahlteilen (einschließlich bestimmter Gussteile) in eine Zinkschmelze (die nicht mehr als 2 % andere Metalle enthält) aufgebracht werden. Diese Norm gilt nicht für: a) kontinuierlich feuerverzinktes Band und Draht; b) Rohre, die in automatischen Anlagen feuerverzinkt werden; c) feuerverzinkte Produkte (z. B. mechanische Verbindungselemente), für welche separate Normen existieren. Diese können zusätzliche Anforderungen beinhalten oder Anforderungen festlegen, die von dieser Europäischen Norm abweichen.
